Jacknife Tea Time

The vision for this video was to portray how the tradition of drinking tea has changed throughout time and history. The vision that is shown on the screen starts out with a woman having tea using the visual effect that the camera is a person joining the character in a tea room. Physically we show how we can be innovative in the way that we used to serve tea with lots of leaning, movement and expression. This vision moves forward in time by undressing the tea room down until it is as minimal as an office with a simple cardboard container for the tea. I feel that this is a poignant shot for the last frame as the camera then develops into a laptop. The use of the camera is extremely important as it shows, as a theatre company, we have thought about the video and adapted a theatre piece into the use of a camera. This proves how versatile and intelligent we can be as a theatre company. Mixing the use of theatre and filming is important as we knew where and when we could be seen i! nstantly making it important to the fine detail of the changes that are happening on the table. This is just one thing that we would like to inform the audience about. The loss of tradition is important for tea but shows that we as humans have adapted to the lack of time available to socialize within society in present day.
